JASON LAFACE
Federal Independent Candidate
(Edmonton Southeast)
About Jason
Jason LaFace is a versatile and resolute leader whose extraordinary career spans technology, business, music, politics, and activism, making him a compelling challenger in the 2025 federal election for Edmonton Southeast against Mayor Amarjeet Sohi. A proud Métis individual guided by Indigenous traditions and Christian faith, Jason’s life is defined by his devotion to family—he has three children and three stepchildren—and his relentless drive to empower communities through innovation, advocacy, and action.
Jason’s technological prowess emerged early, when he was handed a computer at age nine. This sparked a passion for cybersecurity, leading him to breach various systems as a young prodigy—not to harm, but to expose vulnerabilities. He taught system administrators how to secure network flaws, preventing future intrusions. This expertise led to a role at Vianet Internet Solutions from 2000 to 2002 as Senior Help Desk and DNS/Domain Administrator, where he sharpened his skills in network security and domain management. He later applied this knowledge as CEO and CFO of IT Networks Solutions in Sudbury from 2002 to 2007, employing over 700 people and serving clients like Ameriquest, Fannie Mae, and Chase Manhattan, bolstering Northern Ontario’s economy with secure, reliable systems.
After leaving IT Networks, Jason launched an impressive music career, founding an EDM/Dance Music label that gained support from icons like Armin van Buuren and Tiësto. Performing under various DJ/producer aliases, he lit up Canada’s major super clubs, opening for top artists, while his label’s talents signed with major dance labels. In 2017, he served as Music Ambassador for Canada150, managing the Canada150 Music initiative, which celebrated Canadian music history through interviews with Bif Naked, Heather Rankin, The Tea Party, and Loverboy—highlighting his cultural leadership.
Politically, Jason’s journey is marked by conviction. From 2007 to 2010, he volunteered for NDP leader Jack Layton in Sudbury, building the party’s voter base and supporting Glenn Thibeault. His activism peaked during the COVID-19 pandemic, first as Northern Ontario Regional Organizer for the No More Lockdowns movement with Randy Hillier, and later with a pivotal role in the Freedom Convoy in 2022. As a key supporter of the truckers’ protest against vaccine mandates and government overreach, Jason helped amplify the movement’s message in Northern Ontario, organizing logistics and rallying community support for this historic stand for individual rights. In 2022, he ran as the Ontario Party candidate for Sudbury and, that same year, raised $10,000 over Canada Day weekend for the KOA Camp for Kids after Tim Hortons excluded unvaccinated children—underscoring his commitment to fairness.
Now, Jason is challenging Amarjeet Sohi in Edmonton Southeast for the 2025 federal election. Sohi, a former Liberal MP and cabinet minister turned mayor, brings a seasoned resume but faces criticism over fiscal woes and divisive policies. Jason offers a bold alternative, blending cybersecurity expertise, economic leadership, cultural influence, and a proven record of standing up for freedom. His early tech skills and Vianet experience equip him to address digital security—a pressing modern issue—while his IT Networks tenure highlights his job-creation chops. His Freedom Convoy involvement and lockdown opposition resonate with voters skeptical of Sohi’s Liberal alignment, and his music career adds a youthful, independent edge.
Rooted in Métis and Christian values, Jason connects with Edmonton Southeast’s diverse communities, offering a family-first, outsider perspective. Jason now hosts and owns "Alberta Radio" via multiple social media platforms - www.freeradio.ca
Against Sohi’s establishment credentials, Jason LaFace emerges as a dynamic challenger—tech-savvy, entrepreneurial, and unafraid to fight for what he believes in. His role in the Freedom Convoy amplifies his appeal to those craving a voice against overreach, making him a potential game-changer in the 2025 race for Edmonton Southeast.
